Kayl Hawkins: January 2010

5 Months old! Time is flying by but it is going even faster for my mommy! She can't believe I am already sitting up, playing in my exersaucer, eating foods and going to swim lessons! All of these things are new this month. I started rolling over and this is my main form of transportation. I can be left on the floor in one spot and when you return I will be on the other side of the room! I am still a smiley baby and I am happy most of the time but I am still having stomach issues so my mom and dad took me to see a GI specialist this month. They told us to keep me on the expensive formula because I may have a protein intolerance. They said that my symptoms sounded like classic colic with a side order of silent reflux. So I am on medicine for the silent reflux. Luckily I will outgrow all of these issues and nothing will be permanent. I am back to sleeping 3 hours at a time. This is not desirable for my parents but better than the 45 minutes I was pulling for awhile there. The silent reflux is a killer at night so the sooner I grow out of it the happier everyone will be. I am able to put the pacifier in my mouth by myself and the dr. said my hand eye coordination is unbelievable at this stage! I had my second ear infection this month! These are quite a bummer! I also ripped my dad's earring out of his ear and it fell right into my throat. I started choking and my dad flipped me over and got it out! That was a close call! My mommy is going to get certified in infant CPR now! Needless to say this month has had some hiccups. I also moved into pod B with Tabitha and Ida and Edith as my teachers. I am wearing a size 4 diaper! Who would have thought that my brother and I would be wearing the same size diaper. He is very cool and I am laughing and watching him all the time. I try to grab him whenever I can (even though he doesn't seem to like it much)! Swim lessons are great! I love them. My daddy takes me while my mommy watches. Keegan swims in the big pool at the same time so she sits back and relaxes while she watches all of her boys swim. I am a little snapper 1! I have been swimming for 1 month now.
